The UNESCO World Heritage app by HarperCollins Publishers Ltd was designed so that you can learn about all the World Heritage sites on your iOS device. Either learn about them from home or read about the sites on vacation before you actually visit them. The app has tons of info on all of the World Heritage sites, like the Machu Picchu in Peru, the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, The Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and the ancient city of Petra in Jordan.

Locations, 650 amazing photos, 930+ UNESCO World Heritage Sites

unesco world heritage applicationIt's easy to find a site on the app; use the A-Z index, the year the site was inscribed to the List, the country in which the site is located, the classification of the site, or choose from among your favourites list. You may also search by region; the sites you've marked as visited, and site you've recently viewed. There is also a random function to learn about a randomly-selected World Heritage site.

Bookmark your favourite sites for future reference. You can also share the description via Twitter, Facebook, or email. The app has more than 650 amazing photos, offline location maps, and complete descriptions of all of the 930+ UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The app was updated to Version 2.0 on November 16, 2011. Updates added the ability to search for sites by region, sharing by Twitter, Facebook, and email, and the ability to tick off sites you've visited. You can also record the date you visited.

The app has 17 customer ratings with an average of four out of five stars. The current version has nine four-star ratings. There isn't any customer feedback noted. This is a great app if you like to learn about historic sites. It's a little pricey, but you get a lot of good information.
